A chain is only as strong as its' weakest link. The same rule applies to networks and security. Network security and stability starts at the desktop.
Security policies, firewalls, and antivirus/spyware protection software are all as complex as the systems they protect. These systems require steady maintenance and management to ensure they are operating in an effective and productive manner. Obtaining peak performance from your systems is only one step in getting the most from your investment. networks | etc will assist you in selecting and leveraging the latest technologies to keep your IT infrastructure competitive, productive, and secure. |
System won't boot? Blue screen?
System Won't Boot? Why? There can be many symptoms that will help identify the cause of a non-booting computer. The final diagnosis depends on exactly what's happening.
* does your computer turn on at all? * does it appear to be booting, but nothing is displayed on the monitor? * does it display something that appears to be a normal boot, but hangs with an error message? * does it get to the Windows screen, but hangs indefinitely? * does it appear to be booting, but when windows loads, it reboots? REPEATEDLY!? (Boot-Loop) * does it appear to be booting, but you get the "feared" BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH? |
Here is a little more info on the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death):
Every Windows user has experienced or heard of the infamous " Blue Screen of Death" This computing anomaly occurs when Windows detects a software or hardware error that prevents it from continuing to operate normally. If you're lucky it's a one time glitch as a program got pushed too far or came across a one in a million scenario that caused it to crash and take Windows with it. Unfortunately, more often than not this is not the case.
Whether hardware has failed, drivers have become corrupted, or a software update/installation did not complete correctly; Windows has become unstable. Continuing to use Windows in this unstable state can lead to greater problems.
The "Blue Screen of Death" can be equated to Windows having a heart attack. When Windows crashes like that we are forced to improperly shut down our computers by holding the power button or pulling the plug. This method of shut down does not give the hard drive the proper time to spin down and prepare itself for shut down which will ultimately lead to data loss.
Hardware can be fixed or replaced, software can be reinstalled, however lost data cannot be easily recovered. Don't live with the occasional Blue Screen. In the event the Blue Screen is a permanent condition, contact networks | etc ASAP. We'll get you back up and running in no time.
